World heritage listed paradise

K’gari (Fraser Island)

K’Gari (Fraser Island), Australia, the largest sand Island in the world, is home to ancient rainforests, mirror-like freshwater lakes, endless white-sand beaches, magnificent cliffs of coloured sands, alluring crystal clear creeks, and an array of animals including pure dingos. With a plethora of breathtaking vistas to feast your eyes on, it is no wonder why the first Australian’s named Fraser Island K’Gari, which translates to ‘paradise’.

The turquoise waters surrounding this paradise offer a safe and sheltered canvas to explore. The warm waters surrounding the island attract dugong, reef fish, manta rays, dolphins and turtles and humpback whales (July-Oct). The World Heritage-Listed paradise and its beautiful waterways offer all one could ever want.

An idyllic hidden gem

The Great Sandy Strait

The Great Sandy Strait is home to Fraser Island (K’gari), white sandy beaches, crystal clear waters, hidden shipwrecks and more. Between the Fraser Coast’s mainland and Fraser Island lies the Great Sandy Strait, about 70km of crystal clear waters, white sandy beaches, a network of shallow lying flats and a maze of creeks. The Great Sandy Biosphere covers 540,000 hectares of marine park and was highlighted by UNESCO in 2009 in the same class as the Galapagos Islands, the Central Amazon and Uluru.

I’ve never had much of an opportunity to explore the local Islands, until I went with K’Gari Salty Safaris… I saw everything I was hoping to and more. Very friendly, experienced staff who guarantee a fun tour! Will definitely be back with friends and family

Hervey Bay

We had a magical day out on the water with the salty safaris crew. The water was crystal clear, the whales were jumping and scenery along the way was nothing short of stunning!
