K’gari Salty Safaris

About Us

We run a tight ship, but a loose tour!

K’gari Salty Safaris  tours visit the “wild” side of K’gari (Fraser Island), in the safe and sheltered western beaches and down into the Great Sandy Strait.

The Fraser Coast’s

Ultimate Marine Adventures

K’gari Salty Safaris operates 4 main tours daily from Urangan harbour in Hervey Bay, carrying guests on an adventure to experience some of the Fraser Coast’s most remote destinations. Our guests experience adrenalin fuelled action while exploring the islands, creeks and banks on our semi-rigid inflatable vessel ‘Wipeout’ travelling at speeds of up to 30 knots.

With a plethora of breathtaking vistas to feast your eyes on, it is no wonder why the first Australians named Fraser Island K’gari, which translates to ‘paradise’. This paradisiacal area is brimming with marine, bird and animal life, including the wild purebred Wongari (dingo) and humpback whales (from July-October).

Bruce

Owner / Operator

If you spend enough time in the ocean, you tend to form a special bond with mother nature. You learn to be humble, appreciate life and not just yours, but life that is all around you. Ever since I can remember, I have been drawn to the ocean. A passion for fishing, diving and exploring the unknown. I now get to share that passion with everyone that comes on our tours and that, to me... is a pretty special way to earn a living.

Heath

Owner

Growing up with the ocean as our backyard, we would spend more time in the water than on land. You tend to form a special connection with the ocean, something about it just makes you forget all the bad stuff from the past and clears your mind to find inspirations for the future. We are excited to share our love of the ocean with all of our guests and hope they leave with lasting memories of the Hervey Bay Region that we call home.

Mark

Freediving Instructor & Skipper

Coming from the vibrant shores of Melbourne where the ocean first took her hold on me to teaching scuba in Bali, my journey took a deeper dive into the underwater world! It was in Bali that I discovered the magic of freediving. I return to Amed as much as possible to work on Depth, 50m next trip. Freediving led me to meditation and ultimately to Breathwork. Now, my second passion, as a Breathwork Facilitator I embrace a positive way of life and weave these practices into my freediving training, emphasising safety and mindfulness.
