Terms & Conditions
We run a tight ship, but a loose tour

Tour Booking T&C’s
1. Bookings and Payment
- All bookings require a deposit or full payment at the time of booking, as specified on our website or booking platform.
- Payment can be made via credit card, debit card, or approved online payment methods. Credit card fees of up to 2.2% may apply.
- Bookings are not confirmed until payment is received, and a confirmation email has been sent.
2. Fares and Inclusions
- All fares are in Australian Dollars and include Marine Park fees, National Park fees, booking fees, and GST.
- Tours operate subject to weather, tides, and whale activity. Salty Safaris reserves the right to alter itineraries for safety or operational reasons.
- Departure times may vary based on weather and tidal conditions.
- Prices are subject to change without notice.

Health + Safety
3. Age, Health, and Fitness
- Tours are recommended for guests aged 12 years and over. Children under this age may not be suitable due to safety considerations.
- Tours may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility, certain medical conditions, including but not limited to pre-existing back, neck or hip injuries, or pregnancy. Guests must consult their doctor before booking if unsure.
- Guests are responsible for their own health and fitness to participate in the tour.
4. Safety
- All guests must follow the instructions of Salty Safaris staff and guides at all times.
- Life jackets must be worn where required.
- Guests engaging in optional swimming with whales do so at their own risk. Staff will provide guidance to maximise safety.
- No alcohol may be consumed before entering the water.
5. Waiver
- All guests will be required to sign a voluntary release and assumption of risk waiver before participating in the tour, acknowledging the risks involved.
Cancellations & Refunds
6. Cancellation and Refund Policy
- Cancellations made at least 48 hours before the scheduled tour will receive a full refund, minus any credit card or transaction fees.
- Cancellations made within 48 hours of the tour will not be eligible for a refund.
- Salty Safaris reserves the right to cancel or reschedule tours due to unsafe weather, sea conditions, or other unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, guests will receive a full refund or the opportunity to reschedule.

7. Weather and Conditions
- Tours operate in natural marine environments; conditions may change rapidly.
- Salty Safaris reserves the right to cancel, delay, or modify a tour for safety reasons.
Liability
8. Liability and Insurance
- Participation in our tours is at your own risk. Salty Safaris, its owners, staff, and contractors are not liable for personal injury, illness, or loss of property, except where required by law.
- Guests are encouraged to obtain their own travel insurance covering health, personal injury, and activities.
Photos and Media
9. Photos and Media
- Salty Safaris may take photographs or videos during tours for promotional purposes.
- By participating, guests consent to the use of their image in marketing, including social media, without additional compensation.
Behaviour
10. Code of Conduct
- Guests must respect wildlife, marine life, and other tour participants.
- Offensive behavior, alcohol (before water activities), or illegal substances are strictly prohibited.
Privacy & Law
11. Privacy
- Salty Safaris collects personal information for booking and operational purposes only.
- Your information will not be shared with third parties except as required for tour operations or by law.
We abide by the Information Privacy Principles of the Privacy Act 1988. Our website follows the Privacy Commissioner’s Guidelines for Federal and ACT Government Websites.
If you do not consent to the above, please advise K’gari Salty Safaris.
12. Governing Law
- These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
Private Charters
13. Confirmation of Booking / Deposit / Payment
1. Quote prices are valid for 7 days only and are in Australian Dollars (AUD$) and inclusive of GST.
2. Tentative reservations will be held in good faith for up to 7 days pending payment of a deposit, or until another party wants to book the same vessel, whichever is sooner. The booking is not secured until a deposit has been received.
3. A Charter will be confirmed on receipt of the deposit specified in the quotation. All bookings made within 7 days of Charter date require payment in full at the time of booking.
4. The deposit payable will be 50% of the boat charter fee unless otherwise specified in the quotation.
5. Final guest numbers and final payment is required 7 days prior to the Charter unless otherwise agreed.
6. If the balance has not been made within 10 days of the scheduled charter date, the Agent reserves the right to cancel the charter with no deposit refunded.
Cancellations
- Cancellations within 7 days of the charter date incur a 100% fee and no refund will be offered;
- Cancellations 7 days or more, refund of deposit is offered, minus a $100 admin/processing/cancelation fee.
