Last year, we were thrilled to collaborate with the incredible Ell Jayne, the owner and operator of The Mermaid Connection. A PADI-certified freediver and mermaid instructor based on the Sunshine Coast, Ell embodies the spirit of positivity and adventure, often inspiring her followers with uplifting messages like, “Just breathe!”
In her words: “Sometimes, the world above gets too loud, too fast. But if you take a moment to dive deep, you’ll find peace beneath the surface. In the clear, tranquil waters of Heron Island, everything slows down. Fish gracefully glide, the water gently sways, and all you need to do is… breathe. Let nature remind you: sometimes, the most powerful thing you can do is simply breathe and let go.”
We were beyond excited when we hosted an Island Mermaid gathering at Pelican Banks, where the magic of the ocean came alive. Six beautiful mermaids adorned with bright colors and sparkling jewels graced our vessel, transforming it into a floating paradise of enchantment.
As the sun glimmered off the water, Ell guided each individual with patience and expertise, helping them swim gracefully in their stunning mermaid tails. Watching the mermaids glide through the water was truly a sight to behold; it felt as if we had stepped into a fairy tale.
The laughter and joy shared among the mermaids were infectious, creating an atmosphere that was both magical and uplifting. It was a reminder of the importance of play and connection to nature—embodying the very essence of what being a mermaid means.
From trying on the tails to practicing flowing movements, every moment was filled with exhilaration and delight. And as the day came to a close, the colorful glimmers of the mermaid tails reflected not just the sun’s rays but the beauty of shared experiences and friendships forged.
We’re so grateful to Ell Jayne for sharing her love for the underwater world and for allowing us to be a part of this unforgettable day. Here at Salty Safaris, we believe in creating magical moments and memories, and the Island Mermaid gathering was a perfect example of just that.
Until next time, remember to breathe, let go, and embrace the magic of the ocean. Dive into your dreams, and who knows? You might just discover your own mermaid spirit!
