As the whale watch season draws to a close, we at Salty Safaris can’t help but reflect on the incredible experiences we’ve shared with our passengers this year off the stunning shores of KGari Fraser Island. The waters of Hervey Bay have played host to these majestic humpback whales, and we feel privileged to have been a part of their migration journey.

This season saw an exciting mix of travelers, with many adventure seekers from interstate and overseas choosing to join us onboard Wipeout. It’s heartwarming to see so many people drawn to the wonders of the marine world, and we welcomed an enthusiastic group of locals eager to witness the magic of the whales up close.

What truly made this season unforgettable was the astonishing frequency of incredible whale encounters. Time and time again, the humpback whales seemed drawn to our vessel, creating moments of sheer joy and amazement for all on board. We found ourselves in intimate proximity to these magnificent creatures, with whales breaching, tail-slapping, and performing acrobatics right beside us.

Adding to the excitement were our unforgettable whale swims. Many passengers had the breathtaking experience of holding onto our float line as curious whales swam in close proximity, just an arm’s reach away. Witnessing these majestic animals glide through the water, swimming alongside and beneath us, was nothing short of magical, leaving our swimmers in awe of the sheer beauty and grace of the whales.
