The Fraser Coast's funnest marine tours

K’gari Salty Safaris operates marine tours daily from Urangan harbour in Hervey Bay, the Western Wonders (+ whales in season) and Funset, carrying guests on an adventure to experience some of the Fraser Coast’s most remote destinations. Our guests experience adrenalin fuelled action while exploring the islands, creeks and banks on our semi-rigid inflatable vessel ‘Wipeout’ travelling at speeds of up to 30 knots.

Wipeout

Our Vessel

‘Wipeout’ is a 11m semi-rigid inflatable vessel, originally designed and built as rescue crafts and is driven by 500hp, allowing guests to experience a fun, high speed ride in the natural beauty of west coast K’gari (Fraser Island). Wipeout is the perfect platform for interactive natural experiences as you get incredibly close to nature from the comfort and safety of the vessel. With only being able to take a maximum of 20 guests, the small groups allow all guests to experience paradise away from the crowds.

Our Team

The fabulous crew on our Hervey Bay tours to the western side of K’gari (Fraser Island) are friendly, well trained professionals that always bring the energy so your day with us is fun and memorable. The Skipper and Crew will offer local commentary, guided swims, snorkelling instruction and information on the history and cultural significance of the area and the wildlife.

Whether it is your first time out on the water, or you are a water baby like us, our team will help make your experience with us safe, fun and one to remember !!

Booking T&Cs

All fares are inclusive of Marine Park fees, National Park fees, booking fees, and GST.

Sites are weather and tide permitting. K’gari Salty Safaris reserves the right to arrange alternate itineraries when necessary. Please note departure times may sometimes be weather and tidal dependent.

K’gari Salty Safaris may use photographs of our clients in promotional material, including but not limited to social media.

Liability

Clients should note that adventure travel and boating involves risk. Whilst we make every effort to safeguard our clients, we cannot be held responsible for personal injury or loss due to the actions of the clients which are beyond our control. All participants indemnify K’gari Salty Safaris upon booking. Tours are not suitable for guests with pre-existing back, neck or hip injuries or who are pregnant. We recommend you take out travel insurance. Although good health and a positive attitude are essential, you do not need any prior experience to partake in a K’gari Salty Safari adventure.

Cancellations & Refunds

K’gari Salty Safaris does not offer cash refunds. For cancellations after 24hours prior to departure, no refund. On occasion, we may have to cancel tours due to unfavourable weather conditions, or if minimum numbers aren’t met. In this unlikely event, you will be offered travel on another suitable day or issued a refund within 24hours of notification of cancellation. Only in certain circumstances will a full refund be given on customer cancellation

Rates

Tour rates are current at time of booking in Australian Dollars and include GST. Rates exclude insurances, and optional add-ons. Prices subject to change without notice.

Card payments will incur a 2.2% surcharge.

Privacy

We only use your personal information for the purposes for which you give it to us and for related, internal management purposes. While we do have a mailing list we will not collect your data for the purpose of a mailing list without asking for your consent.

We do not give information about you to other government agencies, organisations or anyone else unless one of the following applies:

you have consented
you’d expect us to or we have told you we will
it is required or authorised by law
it will prevent or lessen a serious and imminent threat to somebody’s life or health or the disclosure is reasonably necessary for law enforcement
