The team at Salty Safaris offers PADI freediving and PADI wreck certification of all levels for those who wish to get certified. For freedivers who are already certified, we offer guided freediving tours throughout the pristine waters surrounding K’gari (Fraser Island). With locations such as ex-HMAS Tobruk, Simpson Artificial reef and Moon Ledge, there is an abundance of marine life to see while you master your freediving skills.

K’gari (Fraser Island), which translates to ‘paradise’ by the Traditional Owners of the land, the Butchulla people, is the world’s largest sand island and boasts an unparalleled diverse ecosystem, that is waiting to be explored.
Whether you are seeking relaxation in discovery, an immersive natural experience, or something more of a fast paced adventure, the are offers long stretches of uninterrupted white sandy beaches, secluded bays, serene creeks, crystal clear waters, coloured sand cliffs and indescribable sunsets.
The Great Sandy Strait separates mainland Hervey Bay from K’gari Fraser Island and is recognised by UNESCO for its diverse ecosystem. Teeming with wildlife, the area is a bird refuge and has more marine diversity than what you’d find in the Great Barrier Reef – all within its borders.

Booking T&Cs
All fares are inclusive of Marine Park fees, National Park fees, booking fees, and GST.
Sites are weather and tide permitting. K’Gari Salty Safaris reserves the right to arrange alternate itineraries when necessary. Please note departure times may sometimes be weather and tidal dependent.
K’Gari Salty Safaris may use photographs of our clients in promotional material, including but not limited to social media.
Liability
Clients should note that adventure travel and boating involves risk. Whilst we make every effort to safeguard our clients, we cannot be held responsible for personal injury or loss due to the actions of the clients which are beyond our control. All participants indemnify K’Gari Salty Safaris upon booking. Tours are not suitable for guests with pre-existing back, neck or hip injuries or who are pregnant. We recommend you take out travel insurance. Although good health and a positive attitude are essential, you do not need any prior experience to partake in a K’Gari Salty Safari adventure.
Cancellations & Refunds
K’Gari Salty Safaris does not offer cash refunds. For cancellations after 4pm the afternoon before departure, no refund. On occasion, we may have to cancel tours due to unfavourable weather conditions, or if minimum numbers aren’t met . In this unlikely event, you will be offered travel on another suitable day or issued a refund within 24hours of notification of cancellation. Only in certain circumstances will a full refund be given on customer cancellation
Rates
Tour rates are current at time of booking in Australian Dollars and include GST. Rates exclude insurances, and optional add-ons. Prices subject to change without notice.
Credit card payments will incur a 2.2% surcharge.
Privacy
We only use your personal information for the purposes for which you give it to us and for related, internal management purposes. While we do have a mailing list we will not collect your data for the purpose of a mailing list without asking for your consent.
We do not give information about you to other government agencies, organisations or anyone else unless one of the following applies:
- you have consented
- you’d expect us to or we have told you we will
- it is required or authorised by law
- it will prevent or lessen a serious and imminent threat to somebody’s life or health or the disclosure is reasonably necessary for law enforcement
